The Boulder swimming pool ignites a lot of memories for many of us in Boulder. I have had the privilege and honor of being its manager for the past nine years. It is with a heavy heart that I have resigned effective Aug. 9.
The pool has always held a special place in my heart. My grandpa, Bert Stout, was one of many who built that pool. My mom, Susan Olson, was a lifeguard. I learned to swim at that pool, which started my love for the water. I was a lifeguard there and so was my brother. My three daughters learned to swim there and all three became lifeguards.
I have had the pleasure of working with some amazing young people in our community. Thanks to Hanna Grimsrud for everything this year. Thank you to Nolan Sonsteng, Carter McCauley, Joe Campagna, Ethan Smartnick, Quinn Mann and Jessie Molitor. You guys are an incredible group of kids and I couldn’t ask for a better crew.
Thank you also to Dennis Wortman. You started a year before me and I couldn’t have done any of this without you! I have enjoyed working with you.
Thank you to the community and all of the families – you all made my summers very interesting.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns after Aug. 9 please contact the City of Boulder at 406-225-3381. – Britton Mann, Boulder
