For the first time in 45 years, the City of Boulder has “officially adopted and recorded a city limits boundary map,” according to the resolution that, well, puts it on the map.
The resolution, which also describes the city’s two wards, was approved by a unanimous vote of the City Council at its July 15 meeting.
The resolution follows a months-long process undertaken by Morrison-Maierle, the engineering and planning firm the city hired to produce the new map and descriptions, as well as a public hearing held during the City Council’s regular June 17 meeting.
The process itself was called for in recent years with the updating of the city’s Growth Policy. In it, according to the resolution, “the City of Boulder agreed to update its city limits boundary map to better ascertain zoning changes, economic development trends, voting precincts or ward changes, and population growth.”
In addition to a map, Morrison-Maierle prepared a written legal description of the city and ward boundaries.
