One idea for alleviating wildfires

As we are all aware, forest fires have been increasing in recent years in Montana, costing millions of dollars and the loss of homes and habitat. One of the causes has been more fire-fuel available from beetle-killed pine trees.

Here is one possible solution to the abundant fire-fuel: How about the State of Montana reimburse landowners for allowing people to come onto their private land and harvest dead timber? This would be similar to the existing block management program that reimburses landowners for allowing hunters to come onto their property. It has been a win-win for both groups.

While this may not completely solve the problem of forest fires, I believe it would help mitigate some of it, and, at the very least, it would greatly benefit woodcutters and landowners.
