The President is proposing narrowing immigration criteria. His view: “America is full”; no room in the Inn, so to speak. Immigration will be prioritized according to his definition of merit.
Would our immigrant ancestors have met his narrow view of merit? Were great great great grandpa/ma among the best and the brightest of their countries, according to the Trump yardstick?
Something worth considering, possibly while packing up and heading back to our countries of origin!
Lots of talk in this country about “rights”; not much about “responsibility.” Don’t wait until the November 2020 election and complain about your choices. Vote in the June 2020 Primary where you have a voice on who will be on the November ballot. In the meantime, study the issues and get to know the candidates.
