Grants available to improve Downtown Boulder storefronts

Boulder businesses can now apply for matching grants from a program that encourages downtown beautification.

The Boulder Façade Improvement Program will disburse up to $5,000 in matching funds for qualified projects that “upgrade, rehabilitate and preserve the façades of eligible structures in Downtown Boulder … to enhance the downtown vitality,” according to information provided by Tom Harrington of the Jefferson Local Development Corporation.

The program is capped at $50,000 and funded through the Boulder Development Fund, a $500,000 appropriation to help offset the economic impact of the Montana Developmental Center’s closure.
