Desmond D. “Spike” Twohy’s life started out an adventure being born in the back of a Hudson under the hangman’s tree between Clancy and Montana City. Spike passed away Sunday March 17 at St. James Hospital in Butte.

Spike worked the majority of his life for the Montana Department of Livestock as a stock inspector and detective LS505 made countless friends and a few enemies along the way. If you had one horse or 500 cows, he treated everyone the same.

In his retirement years Spike worked on several Boulder Valley ranches and a few others around the area. Spike also bartended at the Windsor Bar. Twohy Tuesday was a bit hit but just order beer or whiskey.
