No injuries in Whitehall junkyard blaze

No one was injured in an early morning fire that consumed three mobile homes, an RV and a couple vehicles at a Whitehall junkyard Saturday.

First responders were dispatched to what was described as a large fire at the Freeman Junkyard near the intersection of Kountz Road and Piedmont Road at 4:04 a.m. Saturday, Whitehall Volunteer Fire Chief Jeremy Ward said Monday by email.

The fire involved three trailer houses, an RV and “a couple vehicles mainly used for storage,” Ward wrote, noting that all were unoccupied at the time of the fire.
