Last Saturday at the Boulder Community Library, the Boulder Circuit Breakers — a team of Boulder-area students who have been studying robotics — previewed the program they prepared for a Jan. 26 First Lego League robotics competition in Bozeman.

Students demonstrated how they built and programmed their robots and answered questions for a steady stream of visitors from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Circuit Breakers will be among at least 70 teams competing at the event in Montana State University’s Shroyer Gym, said Librarian Jodi Smiley, who, along with Anne Moon and Billie Rudolph, has been coaching the 11-student team and will accompoany them ton Bozeman.

Judging for Core Value, Project and Robot Design begins at 8 a.m. on competition day, and is for kids only — not even coaches can watch, Smiley said.

The robotics competition begins at 12:30 p..m. and is open to the public for no charge.
