An injury-depleted Panther team took to the road for another packed week of wrestling as their season wound down. Their results were mixed – but a relatively strong showing at the Class BC Dual Team Tournament left the squad with momentum as they headed toward the playoffs.
Jefferson’s road show began on Jan. 17 with a mixer in Deer Lodge featuring Butte High JV, Three Forks, Superior and Anaconda. The Panthers put in a strong performance: Dominick Davis, Christian Davis and Cody St. Clair went undefeated over two rounds, Leo Anderson, Eli Reed, Drake Schake, Matthew Travis and Coen Guisti notched one win each.
The next day, Jefferson traveled to Conrad for the first half of the BC Duals. Even with several teammates hurt, the Panthers were able to field 13 wrestlers. That was more than enough to defeat Choteau’s Bulldogs in the first round, 45-28, with Braeden Jones and Talon DeMers collecting pins.
