Connole, LeTexier leave Jefferson High coaching posts

Jefferson High boys’ basketball coach Anthony Connole and head cheerleading coach Liz LeTexier have both resigned from their positions. Their resignations were accepted by the school board at its Mar. 18 meeting.

Connole, a math teacher at Clancy Elementary, has coached the boys’ squad for six years. He previously coached the school’s JV girls and boys basketball teams, each for three years.

Connole said that he is resigning in order to spend more time with his son, who is now four years old. “It’s really only to spend more time with my family,” he said. “It’s been an honor to coach at JHS, and there have been a lot of great moments. We made a solid run at divisionals for four years in a row. I’d be lying if I said we didn’t want to win a state championship, but obviously that’s not the priority.
