As Montana continues to log a significant number of new COVID-19 infections, active cases stood at 12 as of 5 p.m. on Oct. 8 in Jefferson County.
To slow the spread, the Jefferson County Public Health Department is in the process of notifying and following 38 close contacts, according to the department.
The cumulative total since March is now at 103 cases.
Of those, 91 have recovered and two are hospitalized. So far, there have been no deaths associated with COVID-19 in Jefferson County.
The Public Health Department is handling the increased workload by working long hours every day, as well as calling on temporary nurses to assist, according to Clinic Coordinator Molly Carey.
The department is making time to continue giving flu shots from its Boulder office on Wednesdays. To make an appointment, call 225-4007.
