Jefferson County Three-Day Rodeo

The boot race is one of many events offered for kids at the Three-Day Event. A boot race is where competitors take off their boots in the middle of the arena and return in their stocking feet to a designated area. The race typically involves competitors running to the pile of boots, digging around for their boots and whoever returns to the finish line first, wearing his or her own boots, is the winner. Close out the summer with some authentic western fun — barrel racing, goat tying and more — at the in-county rodeo sponsored by the Jefferson County Rodeo Association and held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds and Recreation Park.   Admission is free and social distancing and masking requirements apply in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.

The rodeo includes a parade Saturday down Main Street in Boulder beginning at 2 p.m.

Saturday’s events begin at the posted time, and age and categories follow upon completion of the previous event.
