JHS girls fall to Ennis again; Panthers sweep Whitehall

The end of the basketball regular season is drawing near, and the post-season is looming. The District 5B tournament will be Feb. 27 to Mar. 1 at Manhattan Christian.

And for the Jefferson High girls’ squad, Ennis will loom large there. The Panthers took on their conference rival Feb. 6, and fell for the second time this season, 46-36. The Mustangs have handed the Panthers two of their three losses this winter. 

Once again, Jefferson had trouble stopping Ennis’ star guard, Marisa Snyder, who scored 29 in this one, after notching 25 when the teams met back in January. The Panthers, meanwhile, started with a shooting cold spell and never recovered, finding themselves down 10-5 at the end of the first quarter and 21-14 at the half.
