5K and fun run raise money for Montana City Trails and Trust

The 5K begins at Montana City School in Clancy Saturday.

Montana City Trails and Trust held its Mustang Gallop — an annual fundraising 5K and one-mile fun run — at Montana City School in Clancy Saturday.

Andrew Carroll, 12, topped a field of 44 runners in the 5K with a time of 21 minutes and 47.7 seconds.

A volunteer-run organization, Montana City Trails and Trust aims to provide safe walking and biking trails in Northern Jefferson County, promote walking and biking, reduce childhood obesity and “reduce our carbon footprint through less vehicular traffic in and around our neighborhoods,” according to its website.
